About Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC):
Himachal Pradesh attained statehood on 25th January 1971. Before this date, the function of the Public Service Commission in respect of the civil services and posts in connection with the affairs of the Union Territory of Himachal Pradesh was being discharged by the Union Public Service Commission under Article 315 of the Constitution of India. It was, therefore, incumbent on the State to have its own Public Service Commission. However, since a State Public Service Commission could be constituted simultaneously with the attainment of Statehood, the Union Public Service Commission, on a request from the Governor of the State of Himachal Pradesh with the approval of the President of India, agreed to serve the needs of Himachal Pradesh till the establishment of a Public Service Commission for the State or three months from 25th January 1971 whichever was earlier.

Educational Qualification:
10+2/INTERMEDIATE – 10+2 passed from a recognized / Board of School Education/ University or equivalent and who possesses a valid Conductors license.
A candidate shall be eligible for appointment to this post, if, he/she has passed Matriculation and 10+2 from any School/Institution situated within Himachal Pradesh. Provided this condition shall not apply to Bonafide Himachalis.
Age-Limit:
18 years to 45 years.
Age Relaxation is Applicable as per the – Rules. Five years relaxation in the upper age limit is admissible only to the bonafide S.C. of H.P. / S.T. of H.P. / O.B.C. of H.P.
Important documents:
- Matriculation certificate for age proof.
- 10+2 certificate /mark sheet in support of Educational Qualification.
- Valid Conductor Licence. on Application Form
- Valid category certificate(s) in support of their eligibility, if any, viz., S.C., S.T., O.B.C., E.W.S., Ward of Ex. Servicemen, WFF and BPL, etc. All these certificates along with undertaking wherever required, should be on Performa prescribed by the Government of H.P. from time to time. Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes Certificates should be following the instructions of the Govt. issued vide letter No.PER (AP)-CF(10)-4/2010 dated 5th August 2019.
- Bonafide Himachali Certificate.
- Candidates applying under the EWS category will have to submit either an ‘Income & Asset Certificate’ or a valid BPL Certificate countersigned by B.D.O. along with non-SC/ST/OBC certificate issued by the competent authority on the format prescribed by H.P. Government vide letter No. PER (AP)-C-B(12)-1/2019 dated 11th June 2019. Note: Strike out whichever is not applicable.
