The Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE) in Assam has announced the schedule for Physical Document Verification (Phase-I) for the recruitment of 5,320 Assistant Teachers in Lower and Upper Primary Schools. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online on the DEE Assam Recruitment Portal.
DEE LP UP Teacher Recruitment Details Name of post:-
Assistant Teacher (LP) & Assistant Teacher (UP) No of posts: 5320 posts
- Lower Primary: 3887 posts
- Upper Primary: 1433 posts
Name of department: Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE), Assam Scale of pay: PB-2 of Rs.14,000 – Rs.70,000 plus Grade Pay and other allowances as admissible under the rules.

Eligibility Criteria for DEE LP UP Teacher Recruitment:-
Candidates must be between 18 to 40 years of age as of 1st January 2023, with relaxation for various categories as per government rules. Additionally, candidates must have passed Assam TET for LPS or UPS conducted by the Elementary Education Department, Assam.
For Assistant Teachers (LP):-
candidates must have Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 45% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations 2002.
They can also have a Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-Year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
or a Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-Year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
For Assistant Teacher (UP):-
candidates must be graduates from a UGC-recognized University and have a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, B.Ed., D.Ed. (Special Education), or B.Ed. (Special Education)
Science Teacher (UP):-
Science Teachers (UP) must have also passed Assam TET for UPS (Science and Mathematics) conducted by the Elementary Education Department, Assam.
Candidates who have completed the 18-month D. El. Ed. course from NIOS (ODL) will be treated at par and equally with other candidates who have completed the 2-year course for the purpose of this recruitment process.
How to Apply for DEE Assam Teacher Recruitment:-
- Candidates should visit the Official DEE Assam Recruitment Portal and complete the registration process by clicking “Register Now.”
- After filling in personal and educational details, they should upload the necessary documents, including a passport-size photograph, HSLC Admit Card, HSSLC Mark-sheet and Certificate, Degree Mark-sheet and Certificate, any other Mark-sheet and Certificate of higher education, and DEIEd/BEd Marksheet.
- Once submitted, the candidates will receive a Unique Number for all future references.

Note that candidates must be cautious while submitting the online application, as once submitted against a particular Roll Number of Assam TET examination, they will not be allowed to submit the online application for a second time.
